The Leadership Forum
The Leadership Forum celebrates the achievements of the headteachers, managers, directors and trustees and gives them an in-person opportunity to network and develop. It is co-organised with Prof Yongcan Liu of CRiCLE at Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge.
The next Forum is planned for 2026 (tbc). Participation is by invitation only.
2025
Cambridge Central Library hosted The Leadership Forum on 15th November 2025 and was kindly supported by the Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement, University of Cambridge.
It was attended by 17 local groups and schools and another three organisations working with bilingual children.
Presentations were given by
- Dr Sabine Little, Senior Lecturer in Educational Studies, University of Sheffield and Ana Silva, Library Development Officer at Cambridgeshire Libraries on ‘Multilingual Activities’
- The Resettlement and Community Equity service at Cambridge City Council
2024
Homerton College hosted the second Leadership Forum on 16th November 2025, and it was kindly supported by the Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement, University of Cambridge.
It was attended by 15 local groups and schools and another four organisations working with bilingual children.
Presentations included
- Motivation and pedagogy for heritage language learning (Prof Ken Cruickshank, Director, Sydney Institute for Community Language Education, University of Sidney and Dr Yue Zhou, School of Education, University of Birmingham)
- Cambridgeshire Libraries and community school collaboration (Ana Silva)
2023
The inaugural Leadership Forum took place on 11th November 2023 at Wolfson College and was kindly supported by the Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement, University of Cambridge.
It was attended by 16 local groups and schools and another four organisations working with bilingual children.
The agenda included these items:

- Workshop ‘Strengths of our schools’
- Workshop ‘Challenges of our schools’
